Tanzanian musician Naseeb Abdul Juma, popularly known as Diamond Platnumz, has revealed his ambitious long-term goals to his fans. Speaking at the launch of the Wasafi Festival 2024, the renowned artist, who is the first sub-Saharan African to achieve 1 billion YouTube views, declared his ultimate dream of becoming the richest person in the world.
“Ndoto yangu kubwa katika maisha ni kuwa tajiri namba moja duniani. Hiyo ndoto yangu. Na nakudhibitishia kwamba nitakua tajiri namba moja duniani.” (My biggest dream in life is to be the number one richest person in the world. That’s my dream. And I assure you, I will achieve it)” Diamond said with conviction.
Reflecting on his journey, Diamond reminisced about his past aspiration to own a Rolls Royce, a goal he has since accomplished. He expressed confidence that he would achieve his latest dream in the same way he fulfilled his previous ambitions.
“Katika Wasafi festival, kuna shule moja niliwaambia, ‘nitanunua siku moja Rolls Royce’, na iko imekaa pale inagarara maji sijui yapigwa jua, kwa sababu kwangu mimi naamini kila kitu kinawezekana. Nawadhibitishia kwamba mimi nitakua Mtanzania mwenye anawakilisha taifa kua tajiri namba moja duniani.” Loosely translated as “(At the Wasafi Festival, I once told a school that I would one day buy a Rolls Royce, and now there it is, parked and under the sun. I believe anything is possible. I assure you, I will represent Tanzania as the number one richest person in the world.)”
Currently, the title of the world’s richest person is held by Elon Musk, founder of X and CEO of Tesla, with a net worth of $230 billion. He is followed by Bernard Arnault, chairman of LVMH, who has a net worth of $200 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranks third with a net worth of $160 billion.
