Former AFC Leopards, KCB, and Western Stima striker Ezekiel Otuoma has sadly passed away.

His wife, Rachel Otuoma, shared the heartbreaking news through her TikTok account.

In her emotional tribute, she wrote:

“To my husband, you left a hole in my heart that no one else can fill. The emptiness in my arms reminds me of the love we shared. Your love was a gift, and I will cherish it always.

It was all too soon, and it broke my heart. You left on my birthday, and things will never be the same again. You never said you were leaving, never gave any sign, and never said goodbye. I loved you dearly in life, and in death, I still love you. You hold a place in my heart that only you can fill. It broke my heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone – a part of me went with you. Till we meet again.”

Ezekiel Otuoma had taken a break from his football career after being diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease (MND), a rare condition that affects the brain and nerves. MND causes progressive weakness and currently has no cure, only management options.

Netizens have sent condolence messages to Rachel who held her husband down until his passing on her birthday.

Racheal and Ezekiel had been friends for a long time before finally falling in love with each other after meeting at a birthday celebration for a mutual friend.

On May 2, 2015, Rachel married Ezekiel, who was still a football player in Kenya at the time, and their life together began. The challenges in their marriage started when Rachel became pregnant twice, but they lost both babies before birth.

Racheal says Ezekiel truly loved her and always made sure to give her a good life so when he began showing signs of illness, she knew it was her time to care for him.
