'I Have Sinned' - Miracle Baby Asks Kenyans For Forgiveness

Former Sailors singer, Miracle Baby whose real name is Peter Mwangi, has issued an apology after facing backlash for a video of him performing in a club.

The video, filmed two weeks ago, shows him on stage singing his old Gengetone hits, including Wamlambez, alongside his ex-girlfriend, Carol Katrue, in a secular club.

The video attracted criticism, with many accusing him of “backsliding,” a term widely used in Kenya to refer to someone who has deviated from their spiritual journey. Following the backlash, Miracle Baby took to social media to seek forgiveness, expressing remorse for his recent behaviour.

“God please Forgive me 😭 NAJUA Nimehaibisha Kazi yenye ulinifanyia Nikiwa sina hope ya kuwai ISHI TENA hii DUNIA 😭😭NAJUA nimesahau KWENYE ulikua umeniambia NIENDE πŸ˜πŸ™πŸ»… Hopeless people na WENYE walikua na kiu ya kukujua badala niwafikishie niliingiwa na kiburi na kujiona najua saana please forgive me for That God😭😭 ..akuna kitu naeza bila wewe GodπŸ™πŸ™πŸ» ..NihurumieπŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™nisameheeπŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜,” he wrote on his Instagram page.

Adding,“LORD, I’ve sinned. Without Your grace, I always fall short. You are faithful to forgive me and cleanse me. I want to walk in righteousness and holiness-but I need Your help!πŸ™πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™.”

In January of this year, his wife disclosed that he had been facing health issues, sharing that he had undergone multiple surgeries since 2018 due to a gastrointestinal condition. Kenyans came together to help raise funds for his medical expenses, and upon his discharge, the Kikuyu singer vowed to dedicate his life to God.

β€œPraise God. I am going to preach,” he declared in a video shared with his fans, marking the beginning of his spiritual journey.

In May 2024, the Mugithi singer introduced himself as Pastor Peter Mwangi after being officially ordained. He shared the news on social media, expressing his dedication to serving God. “I have been ordained as a pastor by Apostle John Paul. I will serve God,” he announced.
