Posta Hikes MPost Virtual Address Rates to Ksh9,450 from Ksh400

MPost offers digitized postal office boxes.

Posta Kenya, known as the Postal Corporation of Kenya (PCK), has implemented increased annual subscription rates for its MPost virtual addresses starting July 5th.

The MPost system, developed by Kenyan tech startup MPost, converts mobile numbers into virtual addresses to enhance postal and e-commerce logistics.

According to a notice from Posta Kenya CEO John Tonui shared on Thursday, the annual fee for corporate virtual boxes has risen from Ksh400 to Ksh9,450. Individual virtual addresses now cost Ksh2,000, up from Ksh400.

“PCK wishes to inform our esteemed customers and the general public that the rates for MPost Virtual Boxes/Addresses for both Corporate and Individual, have been adjusted with effect from July 5, 2024,” Tunoi said.

This adjustment follows a previous increase in March 2023, when rates rose from Ksh.300 to Ksh.400.
