Power Blackout to Affect 4 Counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions across various parts of the country on Wednesday, September 4th. In a statement released on Sunday evening, the company explained that these interruptions are necessary for maintenance work on power stations.

The following regions will experience power interruptions:

NAIROBI REGION

  • Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Affected Areas: 2nd & 3rd Parklands Avenue, Kusi Lane, Ngao Road, and surrounding areas. Also affected are Thika Road, Ramanda, Muthaiga North Road, Utalii Village, NYS, NIS, KISM, Survey of Kenya, GSU, and nearby customers.

WESTERN REGION

  • Time: 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M.
  • Affected Areas: Wildor School, K. Ochieng Centre, Kausi Market, Nyamonge, Tom Owuor, Mayienya Secondary School, Chiga Market, Obumba School, Kasese Market, Masawa, Kasarani, Hera Church, Rweya, Bungu, and surrounding areas.
  • Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Affected Areas: Lutaso Market, Nancy Academy, Mukhweso Junction, Navakholo Market, Dorofu Market, and nearby customers.

SOUTH NYANZA REGION

  • Time: 9:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
  • Affected Areas: Kotieno, Makaka, Seka, Kamser Seka, Rambira, Karabondi, Kajiei, Rakwaro, Osodo, Kobala, Burlum, Konyach, and surrounding areas. Also affected are Sanganyi, Kebirigo, Makairo, Sironga, Konate, Miruka, Nyamira Town, and nearby customers.

EMBU COUNTY

  • Time: 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.
  • Affected Areas: Kivaa Market, Kengen Hydro Plaza, Kyaani Market, Kyaani Primary School, Kanguu, Masaku, Ngetani, Kyangosi, Nunguni, Kathui Primary School, and adjacent customers.
