US-based Kenyan TikToker Judith Carrier, alias Mama Jimmy, has touched hearts by sharing the personal struggles she and her husband, Isaiah, also known as Baba Jimmy, have faced. Recently relocated to America, the soft-spoken content creator opened up about the hardships in their marriage, including accusations of witchcraft, the loss of their firstborn child, and the subsequent ridicule.
Mama Jimmy revealed that she and Baba Jimmy, a preacher from Kakamega, had a challenging start to their marriage. “I got pregnant just one month into our marriage. I struggled with that pregnancy to the point where I regretted getting married,” she shared, expressing that her early pregnancy challenges overshadowed the expected joy of marriage.
She clarified that her husband was not the cause of her unhappiness, stating, “It’s not that you’re being mistreated, but instead of enjoying your marriage, you’re facing pregnancy challenges right away.”
Tragically, she suffered a miscarriage, which took a significant emotional toll. “My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. I suffered terribly, even eating was a problem. I would just lie on the floor while they went to church and came back to find me on a sisal sack,” Mama Jimmy recounted with emotion.
Beyond the physical and emotional pain, she faced judgment from her community, with rumours spreading about her inability to carry a child and even speculations about her compatibility with her white husband.
“Some suggested my blood wasn’t compatible with his and that I needed spiritual help,” she noted.
Despite the challenges, Mama Jimmy emphasized the power of prayer and faith. She prayed for strength and a healthy pregnancy, and with time, her prayers were answered. “I kept talking to God, asking Him to bless me with a child and to prove the doubters wrong,” she said.
Adding; “We have been through a lot, but I thank God for fighting for us. Where we are today is all because of God.” The couple is now blessed with two children, a son named Jimmy and a daughter named Cynthia.
