Weather Outlook: Rainfall Expected Across Several Regions

Rainfall is expected across multiple regions during the first half of the forecast period, with varying intensity and coverage. The Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the South-eastern lowlands, the Coast, and portions of North-eastern Kenya are among these areas, as are the Highlands to the East and West of the Rift Valley. Sporadic rainfall and the possibility of isolated storms in some places, particularly in the Rift Valley and the Highlands, could result in localized flooding and brief bursts of heavy rain.

However, the second half of the forecast period is expected to bring a change in weather patterns. The skies will likely clear, and the weather will be predominantly sunny and dry across most country regions. The dry conditions are expected to persist for the remainder of the period, reducing rainfall chances and making outdoor activities more favourable.

There will be notable temperature fluctuations throughout the nation. Over 30°C will be the average daytime (maximum) temperature in several places, especially in the northeastern and northwest regions of Kenya. Precautions against heat stress and dehydration should be taken because these areas, which are usually characterized by hot and dry conditions, will probably experience high temperatures throughout the day.

Nationwide variations in nighttime (minimum) temperatures will be significant. Temperatures are predicted to fall below 10°C at night in some areas of the Central Rift Valley and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley. In the high-altitude regions, where it can get cold after sunset, these cooler conditions will be especially apparent. The cooler temperatures in these areas should be anticipated by locals and visitors, particularly during the early mornings and evenings.
